Petit Four

A favorite birthday/holiday treat of mine are petit fours. My mother and grandmother both are found of them too. When my mother was younger she and my grandmother would make them for Easter and very special birthdays.
These can be made in any color and decorated in any way.

What you need:
Worsted weight acrylic yarn
Size F (3.75 mm) hook
Polyester fiber fill
Decorating items
Yarn needle
Clip to keep place
Scissors

Petit Four:
Work in continuous rounds


  • Chain 2
  • Round 1: Work 4 sc in first chain
  • Round 2: Work 3 sc in each sc around - 12 st
  • Round 3: Sc 1 *3 sc in next st, sc 2, rep from * sc 1 - 20 st
  • Round 4: Sc 2 *3 sc in next st, sc 4, rep from * sc 2 - 28 st
  • Round 5: Sc in each sc around working in back loops only -28 st
  • Rounds 6-10: Sc in each sc around - 28 st
  • Finish off and weave in end

Petit Four Bottom:
Work in continuous rounds

Chain 2 and work rounds 1-4 from petit four.
Leave long tail and break yarn.



Finishing Touches:

Sew bottom to top of petit four. At 3/4 stuff firmly then finish sewing.

Decorations- Drizzle on 3D fabric paint, sew on silk flowers, bead sprinkles, or sew on small crocheted appliques. Be creative :)
