Fuzzy Bunny Hat

Why should kids have all the fun?
Finished hat fits most teen/adult woman. It is about 21 inches around.

What You Need:
Super Bulky (5) Yarn - I used Bernat Pipsqueaks
Size 9 circular and or DPNs
Standard size 9 needles (optional)
Yarn Needle
Scissors
Pins (optional)

Hat:
If using circular needles you will need to switch to DPNs
when decreasing rows get to small to work on circular needles.

Using circular or DPNs cast on 70 stitches.
Rows 1-35: K
Mark beginning of work with a scrap of yarn so you don't loose your place when decreasing.
Row 36: *K9, K2tog -repeat from * around
Row 37: *K8, K2tog -repeat from * around
Row 38: *K7, K2tog -repeat from * around
Row 39: *K6, K2tog -repeat from * around
Row 40: *K5, K2tog -repeat from * around
Row 41: *K4, K2tog -repeat from * around
Row 42: *K3, K2tog -repeat from * around
Row 43: *K2, K2tog -repeat from * around
Row 44: *K1, K2tog -repeat from * around
Row 45: *K2tog around

Break yarn leaving about 12 inches of yarn. Thread yarn needle onto yarn and pick up the left over stitches. Pull tight and tie knot. Weave in ends. Remove marker yarn.

Ears:
Make two
Work on standard needles or DPNs

Cast on 10, leave a tail about 12 inches for sewing to hat later on.
Rows 1-20: k
Row 21: K1, M1, K8, M1, K1 (12 st)
Row 22: K1, M1, K10, M1, K1 (14 st)
Row 23: K1, M1, K12, M1, K1 (16 st)
Row 24-59: K
Row 60: K1, K2tog, K10, K2tog, K1 (14 st)
Row 61: K1, K2tog, K8, K2tog, K1 (12 st)
Cast off
Weave in bottom end of yarn.

Assembly:

Place hat on wig head. Place and sew ears. This yarn is great because it hides your stitches. If you don't have a wig head place hat on your head and while looking in a mirror place and pin your ears in place. Remove from head and sew ears to hat. Weave in all left over ends.

Ideas:

Want ears that double as a scarf? Lengthen the rows of 16.
Need a dose of kawaii? Cut out a cute anime style face from felt and embroider to hat.
Using blush add pink to ears and where cheeks would be on the face.
